Most modern speakers are supplied with bi-wireable
inputs. In most cases, the two sets of inputs on the back of the speaker are
connected together with a flat gold-plated linking plate to allow the speakers
to be connected with single, as opposed to bi-wire, speaker cable.
The arguments for and against the use of bi-wire
speaker cable are many but a lot of people find that the most musically
coherent performance is obtained by using a higher quality single wire speaker
cable.
If this is the method you have chosen, we would
recommend replacing the supplied links with the Chord Signature Speaker Links.
These are based on the design of the Signature
Speaker Cable and whilst we would obviously recommend their use with Signature
Speaker Cable, they will bring about worthwhile improvements when used with
any of the other cables in our range.
One end of the link is fitted with a gold-plated
spade terminal that will clamp beneath the binding post; the other end is
fitted with a high quality banana plug.
This is a simple and cost effective upgrade to almost
any speaker system.
